Millésime Duplex Centre de Reims

Bad communications, hot apartment - a/c weak and only in upstairs bedroom Positive: I was supposed to stay in this apt 14-17 august. It was a heat wave in Rheims with temp reaching to 104 degrees F or 40 degrees Celsius. The apartment is located on 3 levels with an entry through the garage door. The first level is the garage. It was the coolest place. Second level - living room/kitchen and a third level, right under the roof - bedroom. The air conditioning unit is present ONLY in the bedroom. It's an old wall unit. When we walked into the apartment it was as hot inside as outside, i.e 40 degrees C INSIDE!! First thing we did - turned on an A/C and waited to see if starts cooling. It did not. We waited for an HOUR and the temp inside remained the same 40 C. At this rate it would take probably good 24 hours to cool the apartment to the livable and ambient temp, despite a/c blowing some cool air. There was also no fan in the house to move the air, as all the hot air was rising towards the roof (i.e. our bedroom). I had to book another hotel (oh, how much I appreciated their strong a/c). We left an apartment after an hour - didn't touch anything there, except for a/c. I let the property know IMMEDIATELY about this problem, and I asked for partial refund, since I cancelled the property. I was replied with a standard, probably AI generated message "we are sorry about your experience, we will forward your conserns to the propery". I also contacted Booking.com, trying to use them to resolve the matter. Negative: On Aug 17 I am getting a message from the apartment, asking me to check out at 11 am, take off the sheets etc. I was shocked. It was as if they never got my previous messages. I let them know (yet again) that I stayed in their apartment for only 1 hour. They had audacity to imply that a person with 2 higher educations (4 between me and my husnband) doesn't know how to use a/c remote control that has only 3 buttons properly(!!) and that their a/c unit works just fine! After that all the communications went cold. They just did not bother to answer.

Positive: It was situated in a very quiet location and cleanliness ...It is fair to say we were surprised to see the entrance is though a garage... which was a bit unusual Negative: The inside wooden stairs were REALLY noisy. As the bathroom was upstairs we woke up our daughter every time we went upstairs or vice-versa ... those stairs needs fixing There was only one unit of air conditioning in the bedroom upstairs so we struggle a bit we the heat in the living room were we slept on the sofa bed

Logement confortable et pratique. Positive: L’emplacement, le confort. Negative: Isolation phonique des fenêtres sur rue, VMC décrochée dans la cuisine, split climatisation fatigué, escalier très bruyant.

Pleasant stay in a nice area with lots of restaurants near by Positive: It was clean and comfortable. Well done. Negative: Parking was challenging as we were unable to download the app overseas. Difficult to find a garage
